Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor Supervisor

Troy moved to Raleigh, North Carolina in 1998 after acquiring his Master of Arts degree in Human Development and Counseling at Bradley University. As the Founder of Triangle Counseling Agency and a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor Supervisor, Troy has over 15 years of experience working with adults and children. Troy has a certificate in Wilderness Therapy for Mental Health Professionals (Outward Bound) and incorporates an array of counseling techniques ranging from Mindfulness strategies to Animal Assisted Therapy (AAT). Troy teams up with his German Shepherd co-therapist to bring a unique approach to working with adolescents and children who may benefit from Animal Assisted Therapy techniques. His counseling style focuses on listening and understanding a person’s needs and then helping them strengthen four areas of functioning: physical, emotional, spiritual, and vocational/academic.

Using evidence-based counseling theories, Troy provides a safe, supportive, caring and confidential environment that helps individuals explore, establish, and maintain positive social connections that promote self-dignity and self-actualization. Troy enjoys several entrepreneurial projects that range from brokering real estate to developing and producing continuing education for the mental health industry. He is a father, business owner, and outdoorsman who especially likes boating, music, motocrossing and playing tennis. Troy describes himself as a “lover-of-life who appreciates the opportunity to help others succeed.”
